And maybe “ice cream” is getting in the way of your big goals too!

 

So, as we were getting closer and closer to the inevitable hot weather and summer months here in Florida, I set some health & wellness goals and made some promises to myself. I’ve known that I was capable of getting into better shape and living healthier than I have been, so I just wanted to clean up my diet a little more and keep my promise (to myself) to workout daily.

 

And, I have to admit, I’m rocking those goals! 

 

But I also notice that I’m not making the progress that I’d to make by now. My clothes are fitting the same, and I’m just not “seeing” the results I thought I’d see by now.

 

I reflected on this the other night at about 2 am while scraping the last little bit of ice cream out of the container.

 

And that’s when I realized…

 

Even though I had the drive and the consistency, I was sabotaging my own chance at reaching my goals because I kept reaching for the late-night ice cream.

 

I had started doing all the right things to create success…but it’s what I didn’t stop doing that was holding me back.

 

It can be like that in business too. You can implement all the best systems, teach your team all the right things, and use all the latest sales strategies…but what’s the “2 am ice cream” in your business?? What is it that you’re doing to continues to set you back?

 

Maybe it’s a story that you tell yourself. You know the ones, they live in our heads and remind us of why we’ll never succeed, why we aren’t worthy, or of all the things that could go wrong. Or maybe there’s a literal repeated action (or avoidance of action) that is part of your sabotage cycle.
